Recipe: Rich Shadows & Soft Highlights

February 2, 2025 0 332

For lack of a better name, I’m just referring to this as how I see it: Rich Shadows & Soft Highlights. The key to this recipe is the L. Classic Negative. This profile works well for softening highlights. Using it, I recommend exposing for the darker areas to get that wonderful soft light. Also used in this recipe are two free recipes (Sample LUT 3 and “Urban and Street”). I balance the Light exposure by adding more shadows into the shot. Some examples are below, and the recipe follows:

  2. Shadow: -5
  3. LUT 1: “Sample 3 LUT” (orange and teal): Adjust it to 60%
  4. LUT 2: “Urban & Street” (found on the free Lumix Lab App): Leave at 100%
